Women's Ministries
Our Purpose for Women's Ministries at South Baptist is to move every woman closer to being a saved, connected, serving, reproducing disciple of Christ who is growing in knowledge and obedience to God's Word.
Fellowship/Outreach
Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 — "I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil — this is the gift of God."
Life Design
Life Design is an outreach event that includes great food, a practical workshop, inspirational testimony and gospel presentation. This event is a great way to reconnect with friends and neighbors while introducing them to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 — "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
Scrapbooking
We scrapbook, we fellowship, and we eat. If you like to scrapbook or want to learn, then make time for this. Bring a dish to pass, some pictures, and you are all set. We have experienced scrapbookers along with novices. We share our tools, so don't worry if you are just starting out.
An all day crop is scheduled on May 3rd at South Baptist Church.
Adventures in Quilting
Do you have a project you would like to finish or own a machine, but need help using it? Then Adventures in Quilting is for you. You will have uninterrupted project time as well as experienced sewers willing to help.
We quilt on the first Saturday of each month, September through May, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at South Baptist Church.
Service
Ephesians 6:7 — "Serve whole heartedly; as if you were serving the Lord, not men."
Counseling
If you are in need of confidential counseling or want help in applying Biblical principles to everyday life, call the office to set up an appointment with one of our trained women counselors.
Contact the church office for more information.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 — "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, So that all God's people may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Women's Missionary Group
Come work along side other women on projects that encourage and assist our missionaries. In the spring we spend time assembling care packages full of toiletries and baked goods. We send these out to our service men and women, and college students.
Upcoming gatherings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month, from November to May, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at South Baptist Church.
Galatians 6:10 — "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people..."
Crisis Pregnancy Services (CPS) Dresser
Each year we donate a dresser filled with baby items to Flint CPS for a woman in the Flint community.
Meals
We want to help our church family practically by providing meals when families experience sickness or other challenges. Contact your Sunday School class coordinator if you know of a need.
Bible Study
Psalm 119:105 — "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."
We provide Bible studies for women throughout the year. Studies are offered on Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening both Fall and Spring. Childcare and children's program for children of all ages are available on Wednesday evening. Childcare is available on a limited basis for children infant through Kindergarten on Tuesday morning. Our Tuesday study begins at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. Please call the church office at (810) 233-5000 if you have further questions.
Growth/Encouragement
Hebrews 3:13 — "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
Women's Retreat
Women's Ministries regularly plan an overnight stay for women to spend some time in fellowship, reflection and fun! These retreats are a great way to learn more about God and His Word.
This year's 12th annual Women's Retreat will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Bay City, Michigan on April 25th and 26th. Cost is $75.00 per person. Registration deadline is April 13, 2008.
Prayer
The Bible teaches the importance of prayer. Following this teaching, women commit yearly to pray for our leaders and ministries. We pray God will bless the hearts and lives of all who are connected by our service to Him.
Ephesians 6:18 — "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."
Accountability
Small groups of women meet regularly for one school year to pray for each other, to keep each other spiritually accountable, and to study God's Word together. Participation for the entire school year is required. Contact the church office for more information.
Hebrews 10:24 — And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."
